A SWEET JOURNEY THROUGH THE LOCKDOWN

Hello, myself Shrawani Vilankar! I was always fascinated by cake decorations and wanted to try it someday but never had until April 2017. During my vacations, I attended a cake making workshop and boom! That's how my baking journey began.

When the pandemic hit and the lockdown started I went back to my hometown, Ratnagiri. Since the bakeries were shut, many friends of mine asked me to bake for their celebrations. They liked my creations a lot and suggested that I start baking commercially. With the support and encouragement from my family and friends, I started my home baking business by the name 'It's Homemade!'.

Over time, I received unexpected responses from the customers. Being told that my creations were the best that they ever tasted mattered so much to me. I kept innovating with flavors and designs as per the customer demands. This home business taught me a lot about handling finances while also interacting confidently with customers and providing the best that I can.

With the start of online college, I had to manage my time between business, attending lectures and studying. Sometimes it's exhausting, but the experience has been enriching so far. Recently, we crossed the mark of selling over 100 cakes since It's Homemade started.
